Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
