Thousands Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the area, bringing wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews activated to handle the widespread outages.
Victorian Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 residents in Victoria also faced power outages after the capital city recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

During the peak on Sunday, more than twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
