Kane achieves his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich
Harry Kane has revealed that his enthusiasm in returning to the Premier League has lessened and he is willing to negotiate a new deal with Bayern Munich.
The prolific striker is currently two years through the four-year contract he signed when moving to from Tottenham Hotspur for a substantial fee in the transfer window of 2023.
The 32-year-old forward has scored an remarkable 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German side, playing a key role in them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which represented the maiden important trophy of his notable career.
Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has earlier expressed that he would like to see Kane come back to England, where he requires 48 goals to break Alan Shearer's record Premier League scoring milestone of 260.
However, the England leader has now clarified that he is no longer as keen about returning home as he once was, and would definitely consider lengthening his stay in Bavaria.
"In terms of extending longer, I could absolutely see that," he remarked.
"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be open to talk and have an frank conversation.
"Obviously it relies on how the next year or so unfolds and what we attain together. Right now, I would say we are in a superb moment and I am not thinking about anything else.
"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.
"Now I have been there a couple of years I would perhaps say that has diminished a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.
"What I have discovered in my career is that different chances and different periods happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am completely all in with Bayern."
Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions
Kane is the historic top goalscorer for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the quickest player this century to reach 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five leagues, securing the milestone in just 104 games for Bayern.
However, a honor had eluded him until he won the German title last season.
Kane admits that he was not sure how he would react after overcoming his trophy barren spell, but now feels it has made him hungry for more success.
"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be tempting to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he explained.
"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've proven that this year.
"I was interested in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to accomplish in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.
"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.
"But for sure, I driven myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."
